Poultry cages

Poultry cages are for houses where birds are reared on several tiers with automatic feed, water, manure and collection lines. This category includes four systems: layer battery cages, broiler cages, pullet cages and fully automatic breeder nests. Each is designed for one rearing stage or type and they are not interchangeable.

Products in this category

  • Layer cage (battery): a fully mechanised cage with an egg collection conveyor, a polypropylene manure belt and automatic feeder and nipple drinker lines. From 3 to 12 tiers, with a 50 cm aluminium conveyor belt.
  • Broiler cage: a fully automatic system with a flexible polymer floor, horizontal and vertical conveyors for unloading birds at the end of the cycle, two pan feeder lines per cell and a PP manure belt.
  • Pullet cage: for rearing layer pullets, with a galvanised, electrostatically painted body, 60 cm leg spacing and four steel nipples per cell.
  • Fully automatic nest: a laying nest for breeders and floor rearing, with a PP collection belt whose speed is set by an inverter and plastic slats of 60×120 and 60×100 cm.

Cage selection criteria

Cage selection starts from the rearing type, not the product model. For an estimate, the specialist usually asks for this information:

  • Rearing type and flock stage: layer, broiler, pullet or breeder
  • Usable length, width and height of the house, as they set the number of rows and tiers
  • Target capacity per cycle
  • Floor and structure condition for carrying the cage and equipment load
  • Manure removal plan and the route for taking eggs or birds out of the house
  • Current ventilation and power, as multi-tier rearing moves more air in less volume
